The yield on British mid to long-term government bonds narrowed by almost 5 basis points.
In the European market on Thursday, the yield on the 10-year UK government bond rose by 5.2 basis points to 4.763% at the end of the session. During a continued upward trend, it reached a daily high of 4.831% at 22:38 Beijing time, before rapidly giving back some of the gains by 23:00. The yield on the 2-year UK government bond rose by around 2 basis points, hitting a daily low of 4.188% and earlier rising to a daily high of 4.259% at 21:58. The yield on the 30-year UK government bond increased by 5.4 basis points, while the yield on the 50-year UK government bond rose by 5.5 basis points. The yield spread between the 2-year and 10-year UK government bonds widened by 2.578 basis points to +56.059 basis points.
