Wang Yi holds talks with North Korean Foreign Affairs Minister Ri Son Gwon
On April 9th local time, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks with North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Son-gwon at the Koryo Hotel in Pyongyang. Wang Yi said that in the past year, there have been many highlights in exchanges between China and North Korea, which effectively demonstrate the enduring and unbreakable traditional friendship between the two countries. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance between China and North Korea. Over the past 65 years, regardless of changes in the international and regional situation, China and North Korea, as good neighbors, friends, and comrades, have always trusted and supported each other, making unremitting efforts to maintain regional and global peace and stability and promote their respective development. China is willing to work with North Korea to successfully hold activities commemorating the 65th anniversary of the signing of the treaty, strengthen high-level exchanges, enhance dialogue and pragmatic cooperation at all levels and in all fields, deepen people-to-people exchanges, promote mutual understanding and support each other's economic and social development.
