White House National Economic Council Director Hassett believes that dialogue between the US and Iran is not meaningless, as the US is working with Iran on a potential major agreement. Despite the war, he still predicts that the US economy will maintain a growth of 4% to 5% this year. In terms of policy agenda, he hopes that a reconciliation bill can be completed by June, and plans to research a second reconciliation bill in the fall. Regarding issues with the Federal Reserve personnel, he expects the Powell hearing to proceed as planned next week and is confident that Powell will be appointed as the chair of the Federal Reserve in May, while also predicting that Powell will not remain a member of the Federal Reserve Board. Hassett emphasizes that interest rates should be lower, and the Federal Reserve's balance sheet should be gradually reduced.
