According to the website Axios, a US official, an Israeli official, and two sources familiar with the negotiations have stated that progress has been made in the past 24 hours in the talks between the US and Iran. However, the likelihood of reaching a ceasefire agreement before the 8pm deadline set by Trump in Eastern Time still seems low. A US official stated that the White House's consideration has shifted from "can an agreement be reached?" to "can an agreement be reached before 8pm tonight?" The key challenge at the moment, according to sources, is how to satisfy Iran's demand for strong assurances from the US and Israel to ensure that both sides will not restart the war after the ceasefire; and due to the tense security situation, the response time of the Iranian leadership is slow. On Monday, Iran submitted a proposal to the US through a mediator. Although the proposal does not align with the US position, a US official and another source revealed that in fact, the White House considers it to have some positive significance. The US official stated, "The last proposal we received is not entirely in line with our expectations, but it is much better than what we originally anticipated." According to sources, negotiations are expected to continue in the next few hours until Trump's deadline expires.
