Ensure supply Indian oil refiners delay shutdown maintenance
An official from the Indian Ministry of Petroleum said on the 6th that some of the country's refineries have postponed maintenance of production equipment to ensure domestic fuel needs. Reuters quoted Indian Ministry of Petroleum official Sujata Sharma as saying that some oil companies including Indian Oil Corporation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation had originally planned routine maintenance of some of their refining equipment. However, considering that private company Nayara Energy has decided to shut down its Vadinar refinery with a processing capacity of 400,000 barrels per day for maintenance starting on the 9th, this is likely to lead to a tight supply of liquefied petroleum gas in India. In addition to the shortage of petroleum products due to the conflicts in the Middle East, some Indian oil companies have therefore decided to postpone the maintenance shutdown to ensure supply. The report stated that Nayara Energy had originally planned a one-month maintenance shutdown for the Vadinar refinery last year, but due to EU sanctions making it difficult to obtain key materials for maintenance, they had to postpone the maintenance plan. Industry sources said that this maintenance shutdown is expected to last 35 to 40 days.
