On the 5th, Gleb Nikitin, Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia, stated that two oil refineries and a thermal power plant in the oblast were damaged in a Ukrainian drone attack, with preliminary reports indicating no casualties. Nikitin wrote on social media on the 5th that the Russian air defense forces shot down 30 Ukrainian drones over the industrial area of the Kstovo district in the oblast on the evening of the 4th. The debris from the drones falling affected two facilities of the Russian energy company Lukoil and caused fires. Currently, the fires have been brought under control. Nikitin stated that the attack also caused damage to a thermal power plant and some residential buildings to varying degrees.
