The ruling party in Armenia nominates Pashinyan as a candidate for prime minister.
On April 4, local time, the ruling party "Civil Contract" in Armenia unanimously approved current Prime Minister Pashinyan as the government's candidate for the head of the June parliamentary elections at the eighth extraordinary congress held in the capital city of Yerevan. Prior to this, Pashinyan received a total of 933 votes in two rounds of secret ballot voting within the party, ranking first on the party's candidate list.
