This week's trading was shortened due to the holiday, and US Treasury bond yields closed lower than the beginning of the week. Earlier this week, bond prices rose, pushing yields lower, thanks to comments interpreted by traders as dovish from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, while the market also hoped that the conflict with Iran would have a smaller inflation impact on the US economy than previously feared. However, on Friday, yields climbed after the better-than-expected March jobs report was released, partially reversing the decline. "Overall, in a situation where interest rate fluctuations are relatively small, the bond market over the past year and a half has shown that the US economy is really resilient," Jennifer Bender of DAU told The Wall Street Journal. The benchmark 10-year US Treasury yield closed at 4.344%, lower than last Friday's 4.439%. The 2-year US Treasury yield fell from 3.915% a week ago to 3.85%.
