The Japanese aviation industry usually adjusts the fuel surcharge every two months. Taking the example of one-way flights from Japan to Europe and North America, starting from June, All Nippon Airways will increase the fuel surcharge by 23,100 yen (1 US dollar is approximately equal to 159 yen) to 55,000 yen compared to April and May. Japan Airlines will increase the fuel surcharge by 21,000 yen to 50,000 yen, both increases exceeding 70% (Xinhua News).
