Fujian Province: Exploring and Promoting "Computing Power Entering the Sea" to Accelerate the Cultivation of New Marine Industries

Recently, the provincial and municipal ocean management departments held a consultation meeting in Fuzhou to accelerate the construction of the national marine economy development demonstration zones in Fuzhou and Xiamen. Yan Zhihuang, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Fujian Provincial Ocean and Fisheries Bureau, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Yan Zhihuang emphasized the need to focus on key areas and directions, further coordinate marine development and protection, conduct comprehensive maritime surveys between Fujian and Taiwan, accelerate the development of bay economies and comprehensive island development. By focusing on key areas such as deep-sea engineering, digital ocean, blue pharmacy, ocean carbon sink, expanding scenarios such as Star Sea Interconnection, unmanned vessels, marine low-altitude economy, and deep-sea intelligent aquaculture demonstration applications, Yan Zhihuang called for the construction of an integrated large-scale "Maritime Fujian" platform to explore the advancement of "computing power into the sea" and accelerate the cultivation of new maritime tracks. He also emphasized the need to continuously innovate the development support system of "laws + policies + mechanisms", to open up new channels for institutional innovation such as bay linkage, resource allocation, factor flow, industrial collaboration, market integration, and governance coordination.
