Yang Xiaowei, former deputy director of the Education, Science, Health and Sports Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, has been prosecuted.

Former Deputy Director of the Education, Science, Health, and Sports Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Yang Xiaowei, is suspected of bribery. The investigation conducted by the National Supervisory Commission has been concluded, and the case has been transferred to the procuratorial organs for examination and prosecution. The Supreme People's Procuratorate has legally decided to arrest Yang Xiaowei on suspicion of bribery, and designated the Xiangyang People's Procuratorate of Hubei Province to conduct the examination and prosecution. Recently, the Xiangyang People's Procuratorate has filed a public prosecution with the Xiangyang Intermediate People's Court. During the examination and prosecution stage, the procuratorial organs informed the defendant Yang Xiaowei of his litigation rights, interrogated the defendant, and listened to the opinions of the defense counsel. The procuratorial organs accused the defendant Yang Xiaowei of using his positions as Deputy General Manager of China Unicom Limited, Deputy General Manager and General Manager of China Telecom Group Corporation, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Radio and Television, Deputy Director of the Education, Science, Health, and Sports Committee of the 14th National CPPCC, as well as the conveniences and advantages formed by his duty or position, to seek benefits for others, illegally accepting property from others, with an especially large amount. According to law, he should be held criminally responsible for the crime of bribery.
