"China Patent Survey Report 2025" released, the industrialization rate of enterprise invention patents reached 54.0%

The "2025 China Patent Survey Report" released by the National Intellectual Property Administration today shows that China's patent creation ability continues to increase. The proportion of enterprise invention patents obtained through research and development is 87.4%, an increase of 0.8 percentage points from the previous year and 2.9 percentage points from 2021. During the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period, this proportion has remained above 80% and has been steadily increasing. The level of patent industrialization in China continues to rise, with the industrialization rate of enterprise invention patents reaching 54.0%, an increase of 0.7 percentage points from the previous year. The industrialization rate of enterprise invention patents has achieved steady growth during the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period. The average revenue from industrializing enterprise invention patents is 8.72 million yuan per piece, and the average revenue level for industrializing invention patents has steadily increased during the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" period. Overseas intellectual property layout is active, with the proportion of companies that have submitted patent applications overseas accounting for 24.7% of companies that export products overseas, an increase of 1.3 percentage points from the previous year. Among the surveyed companies, the proportion of companies licensing or transferring patents abroad is 1.1%, and the proportion of companies using patents from overseas organizations or individuals is 2.3%, both increasing from the previous year. Companies actively address unfair treatment or discriminatory restrictions overseas by increasing research and development investment and strengthening policy compliance.
