Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) is showcasing sodium-ion batteries for the first time, and is expected to commercialize them within the year.

On that day, CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited) displayed their first sodium-ion energy storage battery, which has a cycle life of over 15,000 times. The related energy storage products can cover large-scale energy storage as well as storage applications in smart data centers ranging from 2 hours to 8 hours, and it is expected to be commercially available within the year. The energy storage dedicated sodium-ion battery showcased this time adopts a platform design with the same casing as the existing 587Ah lithium battery, allowing for compatibility with both lithium and sodium batteries in the system.
