According to the Tianjin Daily News, in order to optimize the supply and demand of elderly products and stimulate new energy in the silver economy, Tianjin organized and implemented the "purchase new" activity for aging-in-place home products in 2026, providing government subsidies for eligible elderly families to purchase aging-in-place home products. It is reported that this activity focuses on the core needs of the elderly's home life such as "safe toileting and bathing, convenient indoor walking, home environment improvement, smart monitoring follow-up, and adaptation of assistive devices". The subsidy standard is 85% self-payment by elderly families and 15% government subsidy, with a maximum subsidy of 1500 yuan per individual product and a maximum annual cumulative subsidy of 5000 yuan per elderly person. The same elderly person can apply for subsidies for different products in separate applications, enjoy preferential discounts, and only need to pay the self-payment portion to complete the purchase; installation, labor costs, and costs of products outside the subsidy catalog are not covered by the subsidy.
