UK shop prices rose slightly in March compared to the same period last year, as concerns grow among retailers over the escalating Iran conflict.
Sina Finance News on March 31st, the British Retail Consortium revealed on Tuesday that the price increase speed of British chain stores in March has accelerated, and the Iran war may further push up inflation. The BRC stated that the year-on-year increase in store prices in March rose slightly to 1.2%, higher than February's 1.1%, but lower than the three-month average of 1.3%. "The cost increase caused by the Middle East conflict is beginning to transmit to the supply chain. Although retailers will work with suppliers to minimize the impact on prices as much as possible, inflation will still rise," said BRC Chief Executive Dickinson.
