The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has made breakthroughs in multiple scientific and technological research and development projects.

On March 30, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment held its routine press conference in March. Wang Zhibin, director of the Science and Finance Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, stated that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has undertaken multiple national key research and development projects and achieved a series of key breakthroughs. Firstly, in terms of monitoring and regulation, a comprehensive monitoring system integrating sky and ground has been built, achieving a leap from "human defense" to "technological defense". Achievements such as relevant satellite products, dynamic lists, and forecasting models have realized precise forecasting at the "kilometer-hour" level. Secondly, in pollution prevention and control, focusing on the technological needs of the blue sky, clear water, and pure land defense war, strengthening the research and application of key common technologies, and establishing original green control technology demonstration projects that mimic nature. Thirdly, in terms of green development, while promoting ultra-low emissions in the power industry, efforts have been focused on traditional heavy polluting industries such as steel, building materials, and chemicals, vigorously promoting R&D of ultra-low emissions technologies in non-power industries, and promoting the efficient synergy reduction of conventional pollutants and unconventional pollutants.
