As the spring break of 2026 approaches, in order to properly address the caregiving difficulties faced by some families during the student spring break, the Chengdu Education Bureau has introduced six measures to ensure the provision of on-campus child care services. It explicitly requires schools not to charge for child care services and to truly achieve the principle of "willing to take care of all". Each school should organize class surveys in advance to understand the parents' child care needs, accurately grasp the numbers, and develop child care service plans based on the principle of "one school, one strategy", coordinating teaching staff to ensure the child care work. Child care services should follow the voluntary principle, and parents can apply based on the arrangements made by the school. Schools should ensure that child care services are provided to students in need, and should not prevent students from participating in child care activities in any way, nor should they force students to attend on-campus child care. In terms of services, schools should open facilities such as classrooms, libraries, and sports venues for child care activities, focusing on sports, reading, artistic activities, technology, and hands-on experiences, and not organizing group tutoring sessions under the guise of child care. In terms of fees, on-campus child care services adhere to the principle of public welfare, with no charge for child care services during the spring break, but actual meal charges for students should be collected, and fee standards should be publicly disclosed and communicated to parents in advance.
