Swiss food giant Nestle's brand KitKat chocolate announced on Saturday, "A truck transporting its new chocolate series was stolen in Europe, carrying 413,793 products." The company said that this shipment went missing last week while being transported from the production site to the distribution site. "We have always encouraged people to take a break with KitKat chocolate," a spokesperson said, mentioning their famous slogan. "But it seems that the thieves took this too literally, as they stole over 12 tons of our chocolate." The company stated that the stolen truck departed from a factory in central Italy and was stolen on its way to Poland, adding that "the vehicle and its cargo are still missing." "We are closely collaborating with local government and supply chain partners to conduct an investigation," Nestle said. The chocolate maker warned that the missing chocolate bars could result in shortages of KitKat chocolate on shelves, and buyers may have difficulty finding their favorite chocolate before Easter.
