The State Great Hural of Mongolia approves the resignation of the Prime Minister.
According to the Montsame News Agency, the State Great Khural of Mongolia held a plenary session on the evening of the 27th, voting to approve the resignation of Prime Minister Gongbu Zhabsabu Zandanshatar. Out of the 126 members of the State Great Khural in Mongolia, 73 members attended the meeting. Of those, 74% of the members voted in favor of Zandanshatar resigning from the position of Prime Minister. Zandanshatar stated at the meeting that he does not cling to power, saying, "Because I prioritize the interests of the country, I have chosen to resign as Prime Minister."
According to Mongolian law, Zandanshatar will continue to serve as acting Prime Minister until a new Prime Minister is appointed, and the State Great Khural is expected to appoint a new Prime Minister within 30 days. Zandanshatar was the 34th Prime Minister of Mongolia, nominated by the Mongolian People's Party in June 2025 and officially appointed by the State Great Khural. In October of the same year, the State Great Khural passed a motion to dismiss Zandanshatar, which was later fully vetoed by President Khurelsukh.
