Sergei Krikalev, Deputy Director of the Russian State Space Corporation responsible for manned space projects, announced on the 27th that Russia's new generation manned spacecraft is scheduled to make its maiden flight in 2028. Krikalev stated at a seminar on that day that the new Russian manned spacecraft has completed static and dynamic tests, and the next step will be parachute tests. The spacecraft will also undergo tests to fly to the Russian orbital service station. According to the plan, the first module of the Russian orbital service station will be launched in 2028. Krikalev emphasized that the new generation manned spacecraft will not replace the current "Soyuz" manned spacecraft, but will perform other tasks such as missions beyond Earth's orbit. He also noted that the international partners of the ISS are discussing extending the operation time of the International Space Station beyond 2030 to smoothly transition to a new space station. According to Russian media reports, the Russian government has decided to extend the operation time of the Russian segment of the ISS until 2028, and the deployment of the Russian orbital service station is scheduled to be completed by 2032.
