Three liquefied natural gas plants in Australia that supply about 8% of global LNG production have reduced output due to the impact of cyclones, which is another blow to Asian buyers already hit hard by the supply cut from Qatar. According to a Woodside Energy Group spokesperson, the onshore processing facility Cardissa, which supplies gas to its export facility on the Northwest Shelf in Western Australia, has experienced production interruptions due to the strong tropical cyclone Narel. Meanwhile, Chevron has stated that one of the three production units at its Gorgon project has been shut down, and a platform supplying gas to the Wheatstone project and domestic gas production has also been temporarily suspended.
