The 2026 Macau International Environmental Cooperation Development Forum and Exhibition opened on the 26th at the Macau Venetian Convention and Exhibition Center. Environmental experts, scholars and industry professionals from home and abroad gathered to explore the practice and cooperation opportunities for green low-carbon development. The theme of the conference is "Launching Global Collaboration for Low-Carbon Waste-Free Cities", which includes multiple activities. The "Green Exhibition" attracted over 350 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions globally, with an industry-oriented focus featuring "Zero Waste Circular Economy Zone", "Green Transportation Zone", and "Green Low-Carbon Project Zone", showcasing over 500 green technology innovations and technical solutions. The "Green Forum" covers 4 thematic forums, serving as a platform for sharing cutting-edge environmental information. In his opening speech, the Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macau SAR Government, Lei Wai Nong, stated that the global ecological environment and climate change issues are becoming increasingly prominent, and the SAR Government will actively align with the national "Fifteen-Year Plan" using the "Three-Five" plan as a framework. With the Long-Term Carbon Reduction Strategy of Macau and the Macau Environmental Protection Plan that will be completed within the year as guidelines, the SAR Government will make "carbon reductions" and "pollution reductions" the core of environmental planning work, pragmatically promoting green transformation and responding to the overall deployment of building a beautiful China by the country.
