At the regular press conference held today by the Ministry of Commerce, the spokesperson introduced that the Ministry of Commerce, together with relevant departments, has issued the "Policy Measures for Promoting the Export of Travel Services and Expanding Inbound Consumption" to further stimulate the potential of inbound consumption. Next steps will involve working with various departments and localities to ensure that these policy measures are implemented quickly and effectively. It was reported that travel services are the largest sector of China's service trade, accounting for over a quarter of the total volume of service trade. In recent years, China has continuously introduced measures such as standardizing services, facilitating visas, and internationalizing payment methods to optimize the international consumption environment and enhance the attractiveness of inbound consumption, making Chinese tourism a new trend for overseas tourists. By 2025, the scale of travel services exports reached 393.98 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 49.5%, becoming the fastest-growing sector in service exports, although the export volume is still smaller than imports. Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yongqian said: In order to further stimulate the potential of inbound consumption and promote the creation of globally attractive inbound consumption destinations, the Ministry of Commerce, together with relevant departments, has issued the "Policy Measures for Promoting the Export of Travel Services and Expanding Inbound Consumption," proposing 16 policy measures in seven areas. Focusing on various inbound scenarios such as tourism shopping, business exhibitions, health consumption, and education training, localities are encouraged to attract more international travelers to China by making it easier and more appealing for them to visit again. In the next step, we will work with various departments and localities to ensure that these policy measures are implemented quickly and effectively, optimize the inbound consumption environment, expand service exports, and open up new opportunities for service consumption.
