Foreign investors may withdraw record amounts of funds from emerging Asian stock markets.
According to reports, the Middle East conflict has caused oil prices to soar, casting a shadow over the region's prospects. Global investors are preparing to withdraw a record amount of funds from emerging markets in Asia, excluding China. Since the outbreak of the Iran conflict, foreign investors have sold about $52 billion worth of Asian stocks, marking the largest monthly outflow of funds since Bloomberg began compiling data in 2009. Markets reliant on oil imports, such as South Korea and India, have become the primary targets for selling.
