Workers sued Valero Company over the explosion at the Texas oil refinery.

A man claimed that he was injured in an explosion at Valero Energy Corporation's Arthur Port refinery in Texas on Monday night and filed a lawsuit against the company in state court on Wednesday, accusing the company of failing to properly maintain the refinery. The lawsuit, filed in Jefferson County District Court in Beaumont, Texas, seeks over $1 million in compensation. A Valero spokesperson did not immediately comment on Wednesday evening. In a document submitted to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality on Tuesday, Valero stated, "an unforeseen process liquid leak in Unit 2 resulted in an ignition event and the interruption of multiple process units."
