The President of Colombia declared three days of mourning for the victims of the military plane crash nationwide.

On March 24th local time, Colombian President Petro announced through social media a presidential decree to declare a three-day national mourning to honor the over 69 military and police officers who died in the Putumayo province air crash. During this period, national public institutions, military and police barracks, as well as Colombian embassies abroad, will fly flags at half-mast and hold appropriate military honor ceremonies. Petro stated that over 69 military and police officers died in the crash while they were carrying out army transportation and supply missions.
