The European Central Bank launches a new round of inspections of bank private placements.

Insiders say that as concerns grow over the quality of loans in the private credit sector, the European Central Bank will launch a new round of checks on the banks it regulates. The ECB plans to require banks to provide detailed information on their dealings with direct lending institutions. Similar actions in the past have involved around a dozen banks.
