Xiaomi responds to increasing memory prices: It will intensify the reshaping of the industry landscape, and does not rule out the possibility of future price increases for products.
At the performance conference on March 24th, Lu Weibing, the head of Xiaomi Group, stated that the speed and intensity of the current memory price increase is higher than the company had originally anticipated, posing a significant challenge to Xiaomi's operations. The lower the proportion of memory costs in the overall product, the smaller the impact on the product. The balance of Xiaomi's "people, car, home, all ecosystem" can enable the company to better respond to memory price increases. At the same time, the higher-end the phone, the less impact it will have. As Xiaomi's high-end strategy progresses, it can better cope with the situation compared to its competitors. Therefore, although the pressure is great, Xiaomi is relatively better off; if it cannot withstand it in the future, it is not ruled out that Xiaomi may also raise prices. Lu Weibing believes that more attention should be paid to what will happen after the price increase cycle. He predicts that it will intensify the reshaping of the industry landscape, with some companies even being eliminated, while others will be forced to innovate more.
