Alibaba DAMO Academy and Kainxin Institute, together with the Software Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, have reached a strategic cooperation to jointly promote the RISC-V open source architecture.

On the afternoon of March 24th, at the 2026 Xuan Iron RISC-V Ecological Conference held today, Alibaba DAMO Academy signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing Open Source Chip Research Institute and the Software Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to jointly promote RISC-V technology innovation and ecosystem development. According to the agreement, DAMO Academy will leverage its strengths and experience in high-performance CPU research and development, industrial landing, etc., participate in the development of the next-generation product of the open-source RISC-V CPU "Xiangshan," explore key technologies such as SMT, on-chip interconnect, and "push-pull integration," jointly build the RISC-V high-performance software ecosystem, create benchmark application cases, and promote the industrialization process of RISC-V.
