Hainan Sun-Earning-A Summary of Nearly 100 Days of Sealing Off Entry and Exit

Feng Fei, the Secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, introduced at the Global Free Trade Port Development Forum of the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2026 that in the nearly one hundred days since the closure of Hainan, policy dividends have been released at an accelerated pace, with the effects of smooth flow of goods, people enjoying their travel, and a gathering of traffic beginning to show. The number of new foreign-funded enterprises has increased by 33.5%, foreign trade imports and exports have increased by 32.9%, 86 countries' nationals can enter Hainan without a visa, and the number of visa-free tourists entering Hainan has increased by 53.6%. After the closure, Hainan has the basic conditions to further promote openness in a larger and deeper range and actively promote reform and opening up in various fields.
