Amazon stated that the AWS Bahrain region was "disrupted" after drone activity.
Amazon on Monday said that its Amazon Web Services in the Bahrain region has been "disrupted" in the current Middle East conflict. An Amazon spokesperson said after media inquiries that the disruption was due to drone activity in the area. Amazon said that during the recovery period, it is helping customers migrate to other AWS regions, but did not provide more details on the extent of the damage or how long the disruption is expected to last. In a statement on Monday night, Amazon said: "As the situation evolves, as we have previously advised, we are asking those with workloads in the affected areas to continue to migrate to other locations." AWS is Amazon's cloud computing division, crucial to the operations of many well-known websites and government agencies. It is also a main driver of the company's profits. This disruption marks the second time AWS in Bahrain has been attacked by drones since the US started a war with Iran. Earlier this month, AWS reported that facilities in Bahrain and the UAE were affected by power outages and are currently working on recovery.
