Li Chenggang, international trade negotiation representative and deputy minister, attended the Green Mineral International Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar.
On March 24th, the International Symposium on Green Mineral Resources and Economic and Trade Cooperation was held in Beijing. Li Chenggang, the representative for international trade negotiations and Deputy Minister of Commerce, attended the symposium and delivered a speech. Li Chenggang stated that President Xi Jinping has repeatedly emphasized in international forums such as the G20 Summit and BRICS Leaders' Meeting that China is willing to deepen international cooperation in green mineral resources and other areas with all parties. In November 2025, Premier Li Keqiang announced at the G20 Johannesburg Summit the proposal of the "Green Mineral Resources International Economic and Trade Cooperation Initiative" with relevant parties. This initiative has already received support or participation from many countries and international organizations, becoming another important international public product for global green development. Li Chenggang pointed out that China has always been a staunch practitioner and active promoter of green mineral resource development, and is willing to deepen cooperation in this sector with the support of the initiative, working together to promote the global mineral supply chain towards a more resilient, greener, and inclusive direction. All parties should uphold open cooperation, strengthen exchanges; promote shared development, enhance the value chain; complement each other's strengths, and form a united force; firmly uphold multilateralism, and create an open, stable, just, transparent, and predictable policy environment. China is supporting the green development of countries in the Global South through practical actions, and a key aspect of the initiative is to promote technological innovation and exchange, enhance the liberalization and facilitation of green mineral trade and investment, and support the green and sustainable development of developing countries.
