Yan Qinghui, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, recently stated at the "China Development Forum 2026 Annual Meeting" that employment is the most basic livelihood. During the recently concluded "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China achieved relatively sufficient employment, with total employment remaining stable. Workers continued to transfer and aggregate into high-productivity sectors, and the quality of employment steadily improved. Labor compensation and labor productivity increased basically in sync. Yan Qinghui stated that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the number of young people aged 16-24 and college graduates in China increased year by year. Therefore, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security will explore the employment potential through various channels, optimize employment policy services, and carry out large-scale employment internships and capacity training.
