The longest bridge of the China-Europe Railway Express "East Passage" at the port section has resumed construction.
On March 20th, with the bridge crane steadily placing a T-shaped beam onto the newly built piers 157-158 of the Tongjiang Extra Large Bridge, it marked the official resumption of work on the Jiatong Railway Capacity Expansion and Renovation Project, an important part of the "East Passage" of the China-Europe Railway Express.
The Jiatong Railway Capacity Expansion and Renovation Project starts from Jiamusi East Station in Jiamusi City and ends at Tongjiang North Station. It is a mainline railway mainly for freight transportation, with a total length of 258.25 kilometers. The Tongjiang Extra Large Bridge, which is currently under construction, is located in the Tongjiang to Tongjiang North section of the renovation project and is a "key project" of the entire line. The bridge is 10,435.14 meters long, with a single-track T-beam structure design, making it the longest newly built bridge in the port section of the China-Europe Railway Express in the western, central, and eastern regions of China.
As of now, 222 T-beams have been installed on the bridge, with the remaining 428 beams steadily progressing according to plan. It is expected that the construction work will be completed in the second half of this year.
