Togo Confirms Three Turkish Nationals Died in Qatar Helicopter Crash Accident.
The Turkish Ministry of National Defense issued a statement on the 22nd local time confirming that on the evening of the 21st local time, a helicopter belonging to the Qatari armed forces crashed into the sea due to technical issues while carrying out a training mission. The statement stated that the helicopter was carrying out the mission under the command of the "Qatar-Turkey joint military headquarters". Search and rescue personnel have recovered the wreckage of the helicopter and the bodies of the victims. According to the Turkish announcement, the accident resulted in the deaths of 7 people, including 4 Qatari military personnel and 3 Turkish citizens, including 1 Turkish military officer and 2 Turkish military industry technicians. The Turkish Ministry of National Defense stated that they are cooperating with Qatar to investigate the exact cause of the accident and express condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and the relevant departments of both countries. Earlier that day, the Qatari Ministry of Defense stated that the helicopter crash resulted in the deaths of 3 Qatari military personnel and 3 Turkish individuals, with one missing Qatari military personnel still being searched for.
