The National Election Committee of Vietnam officially announced the results of the 16th National Assembly representative election and the list of 500 elected representatives on the 21st, and the term of the new National Assembly representatives will last until 2031. The Director of the National Assembly Representatives Working Committee, Nguyen Youdong, stated at a press conference on the same day that about 76.2 million voters participated in the election, with a voter turnout of 99.7%, reaching a historic high. Among the new National Assembly representatives, 214 were recommended by the central government. In addition, the proportion of female representatives elected this time reached 30%. The 16th National Assembly representative election in Vietnam took place nationwide on the 15th of this month. The National Assembly is the highest authority in the country, with each term lasting 5 years. The first session of the 16th National Assembly is expected to commence on April 6th. The new National Assembly representatives elected this time will elect the national president, government prime minister, and other national leaders during the session.
