The China Law Society's Customs Law Research Association was established in Beijing.

The inaugural meeting of the Customs Law Research Association of the China Law Society was held in Beijing on March 21. The meeting deliberated and approved the "Articles of Association of the Customs Law Research Association of the China Law Society" and elected the first council of the Customs Law Research Association of the China Law Society. Sun Meijun, Director General of the General Administration of Customs, stated that research on customs law must accurately grasp the new situations and tasks faced by the construction of rule of law in customs, focus on the key tasks of customs modernization in the 15th Five-Year Plan, strengthen research and demonstration of major legislative projects, actively make suggestions, and promote the establishment of a customs rule of law system that is compatible with modernization. It is necessary to play a bridging role, strengthen communication and cooperation with relevant research associations, establish distinctive platforms and work carriers, actively promote the transformation and application of research results, and contribute wisdom and strength to the modernization of customs. Wang Hongxiang, Party Secretary and Executive Vice President of the China Law Society, stated that the Customs Law Research Association must closely follow the key tasks of rule of law construction in the 15th Five-Year Plan period, give full play to the role of think tanks, deepen research and practice of customs rule of law, improve talent training mechanisms oriented towards practice, comprehensively enhance the level of institutionalization and standardization of work, and support the great practice of promoting rule of law.
