White Paper: Increasing Demand for Cross-Border Wealth Inheritance for Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Foreign Nationals
The China Elderly Care Development Foundation's Chinese Testament Project released the "Chinese Testament Repository White Paper" on the 21st. The white paper shows that as the interconnectivity of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area deepens, the demand for cross-border inheritance from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and foreign nationals is increasing. The data revealed in the white paper for 2025 shows an increasing trend in cross-border inheritance demand. In 2025, a total of 624 people from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and 157 foreign nationals registered and stored their wills in the Chinese Testament Repository, with Guangdong province as the main service area, receiving over 30% of the cross-border inheritance requests from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and foreign nationals.
