Steve Feinberg, Deputy Secretary of Defense, said in a letter to Pentagon leaders that Palantir's Maven artificial intelligence system will become a formal record project, ensuring that Palantir's weapon targeting technology will be used in the US military for the long term. In a letter to senior Pentagon leaders and military commanders on March 9, Feinberg said that the Maven intelligent system embedded in Palantir will provide combat personnel with "the latest tools needed for detection, deterrence, and control of opponents in all areas." The decision is expected to take effect before the end of the current fiscal year.
