China Council for the Promotion of International Trade President Ren Hongbin meets with Apple CEO Tim Cook.

On March 20, Ren Hongbin, the President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, met separately in Beijing with Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc, and Scott Whitaker, President and CEO of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), to exchange views on strengthening exchanges between Chinese and American business communities, participating in the 2026 APEC series of business activities, and deepening cooperation in the fields of science, technology, and medicine. Ren Hongbin stated that China will continue to expand high-level opening up to the outside world, promote high-quality development, accelerate the cultivation of new productive forces, and bring more opportunities to businesses and institutions in various countries including the United States.
