At the press conference on the future industrial development of Beijing held today, Li Hui, a member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Economic and Information Bureau, introduced that Beijing ranked second in the global Future Industry Development Index in 2025. In the past year, Beijing has launched 21 globally pioneering new technologies and products, including the 6G-enabled crowd innovation sensor fusion test device and hydrogen-powered heavy-duty truck. In order to accelerate the cultivation and growth of future industries, Beijing has formulated the "Key Points for the Work of Beijing's Future Industries in 2026" focusing on breakthroughs in key technologies and the development of new products, implementing 122 detailed tasks in six aspects. In the future energy sector, efforts will be made to create an international benchmark city for green economy by focusing on hydrogen energy, new energy storage, carbon capture, storage and utilization, fusion energy and other areas. Key areas include: deepening the demonstration applications of hydrogen energy in transportation, industry and other scenarios; laying out multiple technological routes such as all-solid-state, sodium-ion, and flow battery, promoting integrated solar energy storage and wind energy storage demonstration applications; supporting the research and application of low-cost, high-value carbon capture, storage and utilization technologies; and forward-looking layout of fusion energy technologies.
