On-island power supply capacity on Wuzhou Island increased by over four times with the operation of the 220 kV Wuzhou Island Cross-Sea Interconnection Project.
On March 20th at 11 AM, the first 220 kV cross-sea networking project in Beibu Gulf - the South China Power Grid's 220 kV Weizhou Island Cross-Sea Networking Project was successfully put into operation, marking the connectivity between Weizhou Island's power grid and the main power grid of Guangxi. This signifies the end of the island's isolated power supply system and marks a new phase of power supply from the main grid.
