High pressure can exacerbate dermatitis, Chinese scientists have found scientific evidence for the first time.
On March 20th, the team led by young researcher Liu Shenbin from Fudan University's Institute of Brain Science/National Key Laboratory of Brain Function and Brain Diseases, and the Center for Excellence in Brain Science, published a research paper in the journal "Science" titled "Sympathetic Nerve-Acidophilic Granulocyte Axis Mediates Psychological Stress Exacerbating Skin Inflammation", systematically revealing the neuroimmunological mechanism in which stress signals from the brain recruit and activate acidophilic granulocytes in the skin via specific pathways, triggering an amplification effect of inflammation. This study reveals for the first time a secret pathway connecting the "brain" and the "skin" - psychological stress can directly command immune cells to exacerbate skin inflammation through specific neural pathways.
