Kyrgyzstan plans to adopt the "BRICS payment" system.
According to the website of the German newspaper "Berliner Zeitung" on March 17, the Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan is pushing to introduce a "BRICS payment" system. In the capital Bishkek, the Kyrgyz government recently discussed establishing a so-called "national payment gateway." The government's goal is to significantly simplify cross-border payments and strengthen economic ties with "BRICS+" countries. The core issue in the discussions of the National Investment Committee is how to integrate this system into Kyrgyzstan's financial infrastructure. Vice Chairman of the committee, Mederbek Kojyumanov, stated after the meeting, "Establishing such a payment gateway will have a positive impact on the economic environment and create new opportunities for economic development." The BRICS countries have been working for years to create an alternative to the Western-dominated financial system. As the alliance expands to "BRICS+," its influence is growing, especially in global Southern countries.
