Japanese chemical company Mitsubishi Chemical will raise the prices of its downstream chemical products such as vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer due to increases in raw material costs and supply concerns caused by the Middle East war. Mitsubishi Chemical announced today that it will raise the prices of domestic methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer, methyl acrylate (MAA), and methyl methacrylate esters including butyl methacrylate ester (BMA) by more than 70 Japanese yen per kilogram (approximately 0.43 US dollars per kilogram) starting from March 20. The company has also started discussions with customers on raising overseas sales prices.
