New plan for the high school entrance exam in multiple regions announced, reducing the number of subjects counted in the exam and removing the restrictions on the ratio of general and vocational students.

The "15th Five-Year Plan" proposes to expand the resources for ordinary high schools, deepen the implementation of the county-level ordinary high school revitalization plan, and increase the completion rate of high school education to 88%. It also plans to steadily expand the scope of free education, explore extending the years of compulsory education, and promote the reform of the high school entrance examination in an orderly manner. It aims to increase the ratio of enrollment indicators of high-quality high schools, and support qualified regions to carry out pilot projects for balanced enrollment. Recently, many places such as Jilin, Hunan Xiangtan, Shaanxi Xianyang, Anhui Huangshan, and Anhui Bozhou have successively issued notices on the reform of the high school entrance examination, most of which include reducing the subjects counted in the high school entrance examination, removing geography and biology from the subjects counted in the high school entrance examination; expanding the resources for high-quality ordinary high schools, and canceling the limitations on the ratio of regular to vocational education.
