Ukraine nationwide initiated planned power outages, with some regions implementing emergency power outage measures.

On the 18th local time, the Ukrainian national power company announced that due to the severe situation in the domestic power system, planned power outages have been initiated in all regions of Ukraine, with some regions also implementing emergency power outages. The Ukrainian national power company explained that the current electricity restrictions are mainly due to two reasons: first, the damage to energy facilities caused by previous Russian missile and drone attacks; and second, the recent low efficiency of solar power plants, combined with lower temperatures driving up energy consumption, further exacerbating the gap between supply and demand for electricity.
