The Secretary of the Party Group and Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Han Jun, presided over a special meeting of the Party Group of the Ministry to discuss in-depth measures to promote the revitalization of the seed industry. The meeting emphasized the need to focus on seed source innovation, vigorously promote organized and systematic research on breeding, strengthen the exploration and utilization of excellent germplasm resources, accelerate the construction of an intelligent breeding system, and cultivate more breakthrough new varieties. It was also stressed that efforts should be made to strengthen strategic scientific and technological forces in the seed industry, enhance the construction of talent teams in seed industry technology, and improve the overall efficiency of the seed industry technology innovation system. The meeting called for strengthening the leading position of seed industry enterprises in innovation, making efforts to cultivate seed industry leading enterprises with international competitiveness, promoting deep integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial innovation, establishing a sound commercial breeding system, and accelerating the transformation and application of seed industry scientific and technological achievements. Measures should also be taken to strengthen the protection of seed industry intellectual property rights and optimize the seed industry innovation ecosystem.
