IATA: Aviation travel demand is expected to more than double the current scale by 2050.

The International Air Transport Association's long-term forecast for air travel demand shows that by 2050, global passenger demand is expected to more than double the current level. Under a moderate growth scenario, demand is projected to reach 20.8 trillion RPK (Revenue Passenger Kilometers) with a CAGR of 3.1% from 2024 to 2050, with the figure for 2024 being 9 trillion RPK. Under a high growth scenario, the CAGR is 3.3% and passenger demand is expected to reach 21.9 trillion RPK by 2050; under a low growth scenario, the CAGR is 2.9% and passenger demand is forecasted to reach 19.5 trillion RPK by 2050.
