American media: US military plans to mass-produce Iran's suicide drones.
According to a report from the Wall Street Journal on the 17th, senior officials from the US Department of Defense stated that the Pentagon hopes to mass-produce a suicide-style unmanned drone based on an Iranian model to be used in the conflict with Iran. The report stated that this drone, named "Lucas," is a replica of Iran's "Witness" drone. The US military deployed the "Lucas" drone in the Middle East at the end of last year, but did not reveal the number of drones put into combat. The report quoted Deputy Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, Emil Michael, as saying that the "Lucas" drone has performed very well so far and has proven to be a useful tool in the arsenal. The US has made improvements to this drone over the past few years and has enabled it to be mass-produced. Michael said that the "Ghost Factory" company in the US has already manufactured dozens of "Lucas" drones. The report did not disclose the production cost of this drone.
